The goal of the Tobacco Use Prevention Program is to reduce preventable death and disease caused by tobacco in Lassen County - by reducing secondhand smoke exposure, especially to children; limiting tobacco promotion and influences; and involving community members to improve the health of our County.

The program informs youth and community members about the negative health effects of tobacco and nicotine use through education and presentations,  and encourages those who smoke, vape or chew to access community or online cessation resources. TUPP  works with community stakeholders and the Nicotine Information Coalition to reduce availability of tobacco to youth and reduce exposure to secondhand smoke in outdoor environments.
